Title: My Life Artist: Prolific 0 plays

Welcome to the movement. The Hip-Hop group named Prolific, which consists of four MC’s from the southeast, started this movement back in 1997. Flamez, Neme, Zin O.D. and Exile the Experience met while living in Orlando, Florida. The members were introduced to each other in high school by a neighborhood friend. He linked Flamez and Exile together, and later on they were introduced to Neme. Zin O.D. was the younger brother of another neighborhood friend and the last MC to join the group. They proceeded to rock talent shows and freestyle battles every chance they could get. After graduation, the crew stayed close and continued their journey.

Throughout the years this dynamic quartet has released a series of mixtapes and singles for the masses. In 2005, Prolific released the mixtape called “Live From The O Part 1”. That was just the first installment of the series and in 2008 and 2009, “Live From The O Part 2 and 3” was released, respectively. The singles, “Get Your Hustle Up” and “Situations” produced by San Calo, was released in 2009. “Get Your Hustle Up” which features Zin O.D., Neme and Exile is a radio ready, street banger, with sharp lyricism and a hypnotizing beat. Flamez, Neme and Zin O.D. are featured on “Situations”. The laid back hook and smooth beat is the perfect platform to let the listener get lost in the storytelling. “Spell On You” featuring Nina Simone produced by Sutta Caine and “The Real” produced by San Calo was released in 2010. Also in 2010 Prolific linked up with two of Germanys top Dj’s, Dj Decane and Dj Danny T to help release both their mixtapes “New York New York hosted by Prolific”and “Hip Hop 2 RnB vol.12 hosted by Prolific, they also license one of their song “Getting Down” with allisports. With the release of “Teamprolific.com Sampler” ”Southern Hospitality and Prolific upcoming mixtapes  “Now Or Never” “Live From The O Part 4” and the EP The Movement scheduled to drop in 2010, the sky is the limit.

Each member brings a different style to the table, to make Prolific an unstoppable force. Flamez, who is originally from Bronx, NY, has a fearless delivery and a flow like a rollercoaster ride. He moves seamlessly from metaphor to metaphor while riding the beat with ease. Originating from Brooklyn, NY, Neme, has an unmistakable voice with a flow to match. His raspy voice puts emphasis on every word, and ends each statement with an exclamation point. Zin O.D., who is from Florida, has a rapid fire delivery that can rival Twista’s. At any tempo, he can slow down or speed up his flow to perfectly complement any beat, yet lyrically, pass any test. Exile the Experience was born in Atlanta, Ga, and this southerner uses his distinct pitch and poignant lyrics to leave a lasting impression. All together, these four men are on a mission to sustain Hip-Hop as a global genre. Welcome to the movement.

J-Murk | The Truth

I’m not much of a hype man, so luckily for me, this song speaks for itself. It’s by a fellow tumblr blogger, whom you can follow here. The song is inspired by Nas’ songs America and N.I.G.G.E.R. off his Untitled album. Anyone out there that digs my music taste should give it a listen. Peace.

Oh and you can download it here.

Lil Dee, Gods Gift, born Danny Rogers on June 1, 1989 in New Orleans, Louisiana, has taken the struggle of growing up in the south and transformed it into a lyrical landscape to gain insight to Rap and Hip Hop music. Though only 21, his sound and skills far surpass his age. The early influences and motivation of the late Notorious B-I-G and hip hop lyricist Nas, have helped developed his style of positive rapping through provoking rhymes. Lil Dee has been on the big stage form early age. Lil Dee began to showcase his talent by performing on local radio shows, which led to him winning the Freestyle contest for The Source Magazine. His success prompted him to enter the studio to record and release a mix tape that would go on to sell over 20,000 copies. His strength as a performer goes far beyond the studio, and his ability to engage and captivate an audience has allowed him to open for artist such as Rick Ross (Def Jam), and work with artists Fiend (Formally of No Limit Records), and Baby Boy Tha Prince (Universal Records). He has been featured on many well-known artists CDs including Turk from Cash Money Records. Lil Dees positive style and energy has allowed him the flexibility to perform on radio, television, and video. He has appeared on BETs’ 106 and Park, the UPN Network; and most recently, he opened for Gudda Gudda & Tyga of Lil Wayne’s’ Young Money Label. On Lil Dee’s latest Mix tape “The Spokesman” he worked with Snipe from Choppa City Boys on the hit single and video “Never Let Go”, which did over 8,000 downloads in 2 weeks. On the number 1 radio station in New Orleans Q93, rapper T. I. was once quoted saying “Lil Dee is the future of New Orleans Rap”. The motivation Lil Dee has is driven by the ability to know that this is Gods plan for him. Success to him is never falling short of his dreams of sending a message. He is driven by the love and support of fans and knows this is what he was born to do. Lil Dee is not just the future but Gods Gift to Rap music.

“My goals are to take me and my team to the four-front of hip hop. Bring back real music instead of just ring tone rappin.”
